BIRTHDAY DINNER

After a calm midmorning me, my parents, my grandmother and one of my uncles went to a restaurant for my birthday dinner.

I ordered a risotto with truffle, mushrooms and asparagus, which was the only and really delicious veggie dish on the menu, while the other four ordered cheese burgers and chips.  We had a long and nice dinner and then went home for coffee in the couch.

I had a really good and calm day which was nice since the first guests arrived at five and the last ones stayed until half past eleven yesterday.

TULIPS

After peonies tulips are my favourite flowers and on Saturday I received three bouquets of them and I think they made me more excited than the gifts, oops. They last long and are beautiful in all conditions.

IT'S MY BIRTHDAY

And it’s almost over.

My parents let me sleep in and didn’t wake me up with their beautiful singing until around ten. I received a few really nice gifts (wait for it) and had a really calm midmorning.

Fun fact, earlier tonight after I posted this picture on my Instagram (here) my uncle and mother each took a similar picture and also posted on Instagram.

BIRTHDAY PARTY

Tomorrow I’m leaving my teenage years behind and walk in on my twenties.

That calls for a party tonight, I’ve invited both friends and family and made tons of food. I usually don’t like celebrating my birthdays but I’m really looking forward to it this time.

I made these little flags myself with yarn, napkins and a stapler. Made meters in only an hour. It was so easy and it makes it a lot more personal than buying similar ones. I’ll match by using the napkins for the food too.

STYLE BY

The day Style By arrives in my mailbox has become my favourite day of the month, after pay day.

As I’ve mentioned before this is the best magazine in Sweden and the content is really worth the money. I got the subscription as a Christmas gift but I have had a subscription before and will have after these six “free” issues.

LITTLE ONE

While going through my pictures I found this one of my brother a few years ago.

It makes me miss photographing with my analogical camera and wish that I would have done so even more while still in school. Even if I photograph with it now I would never afford to develop the pictures and to develop in school was such a fun part of the photographing.

JANUARY FAVES

Man Repeller by Leandra Medine of course this won’t go unnoticed, it’s become my favourite book and there’s no doubt that I’ll read it again at least once. The fact that the book is about clothes may seem superficial but it really isn’t, every chapter is about a garment but it’s not about the garment itself. I would recommend everyone to read the blogposts by Leandra (and the other authors too) on the Man Repeller blog and then read the book.

Lumene Color Correcting Cream I wore this in a shade darker (because of a fabulous spray tan) at my prom in May. After a long night in a hot venue and some dancing it almost looked as good as when applied and when I came home in the middle of the night and that’s why I decided to buy it late December. It’s lightweight but also buildable and has a nice finish.

Tromborg Lip Balm Rose is making my lips crazy soft and it leaves a nice sheer pink shade. Enough said.
